Chapter Six: Reflections

A light shimmered in the distance, like a speck of dust with the magnificence of a thousand diamonds. This beacon in a desert full of nothingness could not be ignored. The Traveler stopped, scanned the perimeter for any trace of The Others, but saw nothing. Turning left towards the light, The Traveler began to move in the direction of this monolithic vision but then felt an immense pain in the back of their head, and then…nothing. Complete black.

The Traveler awoke in what seemed like a house of mirrors. Able to move only their eyes but not their body, a panic began to set in. It became clear that they were not alone as they began to see movement within the mirrors and the dark reflections looking back turned ominous. Silhouettes of masked beings with bright red skin stalked towards The Traveler, extending their arms and pointing what appeared to be wax-like fingers in their direction. Was this the end?
